I'm the photographer behind Em J Photos. I live in Hitchin, Hertfordshire with my husband, our two boy’s and Dog Harvey.
My photography style is relaxed and modern, and I aim to help you feel as comfortable in front of the camera as possible.
I have also opened up a photography studio at my house in Hitchin, located just outside of London.

Em photographed our wedding and did an absolutely amazing job! She is a comfort on your wedding day, never hesitating to throw her hands in to help with whatever is going on in the chaos of “getting ready” in the bridal suites. We love the photos we have back - totally natural and captured the day and our guests perfectly.
We had rain on our big day and Em was out there with us snapping in the rain like something out of a movie! And the pictures told the exact same story.

We could not have asked for a better photographer for our wedding day! Emily was truly amazing throughout everything. Not only are the photos beyond our wildest dreams, but she made us feel so relaxed throughout the entire process and was able to easily control and direct a massive family of 'big' personalities!!! We loved that we got to see a selection of photos immediately. We can't recommend her enough!
Emily was an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. In the run up, she took the time to get to know us and understand exactly what we wanted. On the day, she made us feel really relaxed. She made sure that we got the photos we wanted without it taking over. Emily was very good with the kids in our party as well. We were really happy with the photos. Amazing quality and they captured the day perfectly. I couldn't recommend Emily highly enough.
How I Work
The way I work is very relaxed and laid back, capturing those moments that last a life time is the best feeling. I really try to make you feel as comfortable as I can in front on the camera. As so many of us hate having their photo taken. Me being one of them I know how it feels.

I absolutely adore working with Emily, our brand shoots are always so fun, and I absolutely LOVE every set of photos she’s delivered! Emily makes you feel so at ease and comfortable in front of the camera, which really shows in the final images. She is an incredibly talented photographer, and what I love most about working with her is how brilliant she is at directing you while she shoots. As someone who finds posing really difficult, she manages to direct me so I look natural in the shots, no awkwardness in sight. She’s also just the loveliest human, and we always have lovely chats while we work. If you’re on the hunt for new brand photos, I can’t recommend Emily highly enough!
Emily is just brilliant. I really get nervous about getting photos done, but she helped us relax, and it was just a really lovely day. The photos have an incredible light and quality to them which really gives them something special. It never felt rushed but she took so many images. Incredibly happy and will be coming to Emily again!
I’ve been lucky enough to have a couple of photo shoots with Emily to create content for my social media and website! Every time I work with Emily, I remember why I love her so much!! Despite showing up on camera on a regular basis, I still feel nervous about having my photo taken in a professional setting sometimes! However Emily throws all those fears out the window and we just have fun! She is so chatty and warm that she makes you feel at ease instantaneously…. so much so that you may not even realise she has started taking your picture! She really is a complete gem and I couldn’t recommend working with her enough!

Emily is fantastic. She’s extremely talented and I cannot recommend her enough. Her home studio is great, it’s so relaxed and fun. She is brilliant with babies and children, keeping them engaged and smiling. Shes a true pro.
